I've been asking the product group for CalDav and CardDAv support in the apps for 15 years. When they added support for gmail calendars to mac outlook and mobile apps they didn't use the caldav - they set up a microsoft cloud solution that uses exchange server. BTW, I would use an adjective a little stronger than 'silly' to describe it.
About the Outlook CalDav Synchronizer

good day, so far all the answers I get are in the way that this is not possible. There has to be a way, it will be kind of awkward if I need to start syncing manually all my contacts
I need to have the contacts that I periodically add in my iphone, to be on my macbook, specifically on my outlook, because when I send an email, if it is not in the outlook contacts, I will need to look for it everywhere and that is not efficient.
Any ideas please? this is getting really frustrating, I am starting to doubt my purchase of my macbook...
